History

Stephen and Robin Barkley purchased the former Terry’s Tavern in September 2006. After many renovations and new construction they became The Ole Smokehouse. The doors opened on July 2, 2008 to serve great BBQ to the North Country with western decor and a fun atmosphere.

Along with their three children, Amanda, Brandon and Blake, this close knit family opens its doors to those looking for finger-licking good barbeque with all the homemade fixings you can imagine. It’s a great place to bring all your family and friends. Blake is the Pit Boss at Ole Smokehouse. All the smoked food you may indulge in is prepared and carefully tended by Robin and Steve’s youngest son. Their daughter, Amanda, heads the bar and works the floor to serve the patrons of the Smokehouse.

In the Summer of 2011, Robin and Steve added to their business. They constructed a 32 foot x 64 foot pavilion out back of their establishment. This is a great place for parties, reunions and other get togethers for a large number of people. It offers a bar, room for dancing and entertaining and seating for 100 or so people. The pavilion is the hub of the Annual BBQ Bash, October Fest and the Annual Bike Run.

There have been many memorable milestones for the Ole Smokehouse! July 2011 marked the Ole Smokehouse’s five years in business. They kicked off their Annual BBQ Bash with a cheers to five years theme, live music and great food for all to enjoy. In October 2014, the Ole Smokehouse received the Customer Service Excellence Award presented by the St Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce.

Come enjoy all that there is to offer at the Ole Smokehouse. From live entertainment on Friday nights to apparel and hats available for sale and of course the delicious food and beverages! There is something for everyone to enjoy!
